Jen Chambers

Jen Chambers has been knitting for 20 years and teaches knitting at a local craft store.  She never seems to have enough yarn and always has at least 4 projects going.  She can’t seem to knit 2 socks in a row….one done and one on the needles.

She enjoys teaching and loves seeing that moment when a new knitter “gets it” and realizes they are knitting.  Jen lives with her husband and kitty in Orlando, FL.  You can find Jen online at www.JennyKnits.com and on Ravelry as Wildjen.

Robyn Devine

Robyn Devine bio picRobyn is a 30-something newlywed who has focused her life on craft, sustainability, and changing the planet for good. Having been a crafter most of her life, it wasn’t until recently she discovered she could meld her love of handmades with her passion to help the world become a better place for all humans, instead of a place that seemed to work only for a privileged few.  She divides her free time between knitting and scrapbooking most days, is in a constant battle with all the clutter threatening to take over her house and truly believes that with a bit of compassion, some wool, and a slice of pizza, the world could be a happier place for all!  Visit Robyn’s blog: http://robyndevine.typepad.com

Knitting Doc

Knittingdoc is no stranger to knitting, having spent 56 years as a knitter and crocheter. He was taught to knit and quilt by his Grandfather and to crochet by his Grandmother. He grew up on a farm where he learned the concept of “going green.” His Grandparents taught him the importance of the recycling process, e.g., raising sheep through making a recyclable garment with yarn.

He is a retired physician who specialized in forensic psychiatry. Forensic psychiatrists work with courts evaluating an individual’s competency to stand trial, defenses based on mental diseases or defects (e.g., the “insanity” defense), and sentencing recommendations. Forensic psychiatrists are often called to be expert witnesses in both criminal and civil proceedings. Expert witnesses give their opinion about a specific issue. Often the psychiatrist will have prepared a detailed report before testifying. The primary duty of the expert witness is to provide an independent opinion to the court.

Prior to going to medical school, he taught math and science in secondary school as well as having attended Bible College.  He retired from the practice of medicine after he developed mild memory deficits due to early onset dementia. He now focuses mainly on daily knitting as well as educating caregivers and others about dementia. He actively maintains a blog named A Psychiatrist with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). He can be reached at drknits@zoominternet.net. He lives in NW Pennsylvania, with his wife, one son, two dogs and one cat.
